Louis Vuitton’s fall 15-16 collection was a tribute to the creations of Christopher Nemeth, the late English fashion designer and artist. Developed by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton men’s collections, the collection references the cord print and the “Harajuku”-spirit silhouette that inspired Nemeth’s work in Japan.

The pop up store will also sell an exclusive item, the Twister tennis shoe that is covered in the cord print and is an eye catching sporty- luxe item with its pristine white and blue design.

Louis Vuitton News

2015-louis-vuitton-summer-collection
Last month we gave you a sneak preview of Louis Vuitton’s color filled Summer Collection, now we’re picking out a few of our favorite accessories from the Monogram V and Ramages collections. Both ranges are filled with bursts of high voltage color, perfect for a tropical vacation or to brighten up a dreary day in the city.

Neverfull MM Monogram V, $1,620
Even though the Speedy is usually a favorite with LV fans, we couldn’t take our eyes of the Neverfull MM. Its tapering shape is a better complement to the bright pink “V” splashed across the front and the “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez avec les Valises Louis Vuitton” really makes us want to pack our bags and head to the beach!

This leather bracelet combines the iconic monogram print with bright splashy colors from the summer collection. Its clasp is inspired by the locks of historical Maison trunks making it a perfectly travel ready accessory.

Ramages Dot Square, $485
Our first pick from the Under the Sea collection is the Ramages scarf that features an orange and coral print against a white background. The silk scarf is a bright and fun addition to summer outfits.

A fresh and colorful take on classic LV luggage, the Keepall Ramages offers sturdy leather handles and shoulder straps and golden brass hardware against monogram printed canvas overlaid with the Ramages print. A cool companion for all your summer getaways.

Voyage Sandal, $970
With a bold block heel and neutral ankle straps, the Voyage sandal is ready for all your seasonal adventures. A pop of color on the front keeps the sandal flirty and cool. A metallic golden plaque engraved with the LV logo, on the heel reminds us that LV travelers are always chic!

Louis Vuitton News

Many have expressed their wish to “live out of a suitcase” but French hairdresser John Nollet might be the first to work out of one! Boasting a client list that includes the who’s who of Hollywood (Elizabeth Hurley, Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger, Kylie Minogue, Uma Thurman and Johnny Depp are just some of the names) John Nollet is the last word in haute hair.

So when Park Hyatt partnered with Louis Vuitton (a few years ago) to present a Tour of the World with “Hair Room Service Around the World” by John Nollet, it was but natural that this hair technician would need a home for his elaborate set of tools.

Louis Vuitton stepped in to provide custom versions of their iconic luggage trunks produced by Les ateliers d’Asnières. The design process alone took a year and Nollet worked with one hundred artisans to customize his dream work box.
Together, the trunks are nothing short of a portable salon. The exterior is crafted in familiar monogram canvas with a black leather trim while the inside is clad in a vivid, festive red with black details.

The trunks boast a wealth of compartments and drawers designed especially to store Nollets hair accessories and tools.

“I was working with these amazing people who are working in Asnieres, the place where special ordered pieces are made. 100 artisans, more special than the next, [worked there]. Unbelievable you can’t imagine. It’s amazing. I couldn’t speak,” Nollet told the Covateur.

The beautiful trunk makes a truly luxe workspace for the hairstylist who has now set up base at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme in Suite 101. We know we would be way more productive if we could work out of custom LV Trunks!

Louis Vuitton News

louis-vuitton-mens-spring--collection-2
Louis Vuitton menswear is all set for an Indian summer! The historic and culturally rich Indian city of Jaipur was chosen to be the backdrop for the brand’s s/s 2015 menswear campaign. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh, the campaign images feature model Rhys Pickering clad in luxe jackets, printed shirts and trench-coats carrying the brand’s instantly recognizable monogrammed bags.

louis-vuitton-mens-spring-collection-1In an accompanying campaign video, three models summarize the collection in four scenes sporting brightly colored bomber jackets, printed shirts and sweaters and slim trousers along with dark sunglasses. Jaipur’s dusty ancient domes and walls make a fitting complement to this travel inspired collection. Titled “Looking up at the Stars,” the collection is Kim Jones’ attempt to explore of the origins of menswear.

SEA AND SURF FILL LOUIS VUITTON’S SUMMER COLLECTION FOR 2015

Louis Vuitton News

louis-vuitton-summer-6

Louis Vuitton’s summer 2015 collection will have you packing your bags for the blue waters and irresistible heat of Miami. Shot by Casper Sejersen in the Magic City itself, the campaign keeps its focus on two of LV’s upcoming collections: firstly the Monogram V collection featuring a trademark “V” inspired by the famous Volez, Voguez, Voyagez advertisement of the mid-sixties and secondly the Ramages collection featuring under-the-sea prints.
louis-vuitton-summer-2The monogram V collection will include small leather goods as well as signature bags like Neverfull MM, Pochette and Speedy 30 styles each featuring a bold V on the front in hot pink or turquoise. From the men’s collection, the Cabas Jour bag will come with a navy V splashed across the front. Pink and blue were also the standout colors from LV’s Spirit of Travel campaign.

louis-vuitton-summer-3Meanwhile the limited edition Ramages collection will offer ocean inspired prints on top of the traditionally monogrammed bags. Keepall, Neverfull, Speedy are among the bags that will feature in the collection. You can also expect small wallets and pouches as well as white scarves with the Ramages print.

louis-vuitton-summer-4The summer 2015 collection should be in stores now.

Spring-Summer 2015 Womens Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign

Louis Vuitton News

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign1If there’s an award for most print ads launched in single season, the winner would be Louis Vuitton, with Nicolas Ghesquière calling upon not 1, not 2 but 3 of his photographer friends (Annie Leibovitz, Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber) to return with Series 2, with each of the photographers interpreting the collection in a different locale.

Annie Leibovitz, for example, photographed Freja Beha in New York City. Juergen Teller worked with 4 different models and used a Parisian townhouse as the backdrop. And of course, there’s Bruce Weber who shot actress Jennifer Connelly in Miami for his contribution to the campaign.

Then there are the other stars of the campaign which you’ll see in almost every image, hanging from the model’s hands, being cradled or just sitting quietly by themselves. Yes, I’m talking about the bags from the S/S15 collection, most of which I had the pleasure of meeting when I was up in Bangkok for the press preview last month. And because it would be too long a post if I were to devote a full review to each piece, here’s a quick rundown first of what’s coming up for the season, with dedicated posts later for those of you keen on specific styles.

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign2Left: Still not exactly sure what that is since I didn’t see this bag during the preview. Armoured breast plate? Xena’s shield? Only time will tell. Right: The Malletage Twist comes in quilted leather with a long shoulder chain that can be worn long or short. In other words, an alternative to everyone’s favourite bag from Chanel.

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign3Left: Another variation of the Twist but with more streamlined (read: less puffy) sides. This one comes in exotic croc (read: will cost you an arm and 2 legs). Want a more affordable option? Have, but more on that later. Right: Meet the Dora Souple in coated canvas, not in brown and beige, but in the new colour combination of black and red. Divine, no?

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign4Left: The Dora Souple (again) but in Monogram Canvas that’s trimmed with white leather. Another beauty. Right: Remember the more affordable of the Twist I was talking about earlier? Here it is in Epi treated to look like denim (interesting, right?). In Bleu or Noir that’s actually more grey.

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign5Left: Another shot of the Malletage Twist, this time in the hands of actress Jennifer Connelly. Right: We all know how much of a runaway hit the Petite Malle was, so here it is for the new season in a new style. Meet the new Petite Malle Foldover that has the same front clasp as the Petite Malle but in a fluffier leather body.

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign6Left: Half-holding, half-cradling, the Petite Malle will be back this season in Epi and exotic croc. Lush. Right: Model standing on chair with Dora Souple. Random much?

louis_vuitton_ss15-womens-ad-campaign7Left: Jennifer Connelly again with the Twist Stripes. Same bag, but treated with strips of leather in different colours. Right: So beautiful she deserves her own ad, the Twist in Epi Denim leather. Love.
