LOUIS VUITTON MIRA BAG

Accessories

The Louis Vuitton Mira Bag shines like a diamond. This new piece is modern, stylish but you will be surprised by its name after you know what it means. Mira is actually a feminine given name, in the roman languages; this word is related to the Latin words for ‘wonder’ and ‘wonderful’. So please say ‘hi’ to Miss Wonderful.

Besides that, this shoulder bag is a perfect day-to-evening clutch, it boasts a striking envelope design and a sophisticated metallic piece in gold, signed Louis Vuitton Paris. What’s more? It also considered a ‘Versatile Bag’ because it can be carried two ways – either sling over the shoulder with the delicate chain or cross-body thanks to the long leather strap that comes with it.

The Monogram Embossed is a dangerous weapon to flaunt; it’s made from strong and durable calf leather.

Like we’ve said, the Louis Vuitton Mira Bag comes with a removable patent leather strap, this can be used for cross-body or on your shoulder. But it also comes with a golden colored chain strap, this is perfect for short shoulder or hand carry.

The interior is made with a zipped pocket and 6 credit card slots – plenty of space for all your evening-must-takes. As final, the bag opens and closes with a magnetic flap closure.

Measuring 9.4′ x 5.9′ x 2.0′ (L x H x W) inches, priced at $1730 USD, €1280 euro, £1130 GBP, $14300 HKD, $2210 AUD, ¥204120 JPY via Louis Vuitton boutiques or e-store.

Louis Vuitton Cruise Petite Malle

Handbags

Louis Vuitton just had an amazing Cruise 2017 collection. The theme? Brazil. And what a beautiful collection it is. Though the bags featured are still something that would require research, let me show you what’s up and running on the brand’s website.

You can purchase exclusively only some of the bags on the runway. Naturally a limited edition collection, don’t let it pass you by!

The collection is of vibrantly printed diagonal Epi Leather. And some with a soccer painting – tribute to Brazil’s sport – and honoring tribute to Brazilian artist Aldemir Martins.

Louis Vuitton recently presented their Cruise 2017 Collection at the Niterói Museum of Contemporary Arts in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The sporty collection pays homage to the city’s culture which presents vibrant colors, football and Grand Prix prints with a touch of Parisian flair. The star of the show is the Boombox Bag which is made of the Petite Malle bags which can even play music through Bluetooth. The iconic Speedy Bag features racing prints with Vuitton logo emblazoned on it and comes with a combination of the House classic materials such as the Damier, Epi and Monogram Canvas. The City Steamer gets an edgy update with a variety of pockets and rivets. Louis Vuitton introduces the Football print seen on the Steamer and Twist bags.

It’s pretty clear at one glance where the inspiration for these Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 Petite Malle bags come from. Tropical hues, racing stripes, greens on gold, even those sequinned animal prints. Yes, set against the dynamic tropicality of Rio de Janeiro, these iconic beauties are given the collection’s mandatory flourishes. Definitely fun pieces to add to anyone’s bag wardrobe, the small Petite Malle perfectly encapsulates the legacy of a luxury trunk maker, and is perhaps the closest any of us will own a ‘trunk’ from Louis Vuitton.

If, however, you’re a ‘purist’ and prefer something that comes in the house’s classic monogram, well, here you go. Buffered with bright yellow rubber stubs for a twist that’s both fun and playful, the Petite Malle can be worn across the body (or over the shoulder) with the use of its additional sling, or handheld as a clutch, which is what I would do myself. No word yet on their exact prices (or when each style will hit Singapore’s Louis Vuitton boutiques) so do stay tuned for more updates.

LOUIS VUITTON MERGES EXPERT CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH STREET CRED FOR SPRING

Fashion Trends

Photo: Imaxtree

Merging traditional craftsmanship with innovative design is a true feat in fashion — as well as a central tenet of Nicolas Ghesquière's stint at Louis Vuitton thus far. For spring 2017, the designer continued (and perfected) the experimental cuts and high-tech fabrics that he introduced for resort, which was shown in Rio and will be coming to stores next month.

Wednesday's show took place at the still under-construction Louis Vuitton store at the entrance to the Place Vendôme, which is slated for a spring opening. The space's cement floors, walls and black steel central staircase provided the perfect milieu for a stellar outing of ready-to-wear and accessories as models walked along the set that resembled more of a traditional salon-style presentation.

The collection was a seamless blend of experimental cuts coupled with flawless craftsmanship — like a sliced Prince de Galles double-breasted bolero jacket with high shoulders paired with a front-wrap leather skirt; a series of blue, grey and brown bias cut dresses belted at the waist with cutouts and brass embroideries on the sides; and tulle beaded evening dresses with patches both covering and exposing the body. One of the black dresses has a combination of three types of fabrics: leather, satin crepe and light wool. The perfect tailoring of broad-shouldered, tropical wool jackets and wrap skirts demonstrated the house's command of artisanal expertise for the clothes, as well as the new bags and Petite Malle trunk-style phone cases — already a hit on social media.

Yet there is a casualness to the late '80s vibes of the collection (the gold pointed-toe boots and broad shouldered silhouettes, for example) without being obviously sporty — see the blue leather bomber or the printed tank made from sweatshirt material paired with a leather skirt. Even the evening dresses were kept to a bare minimum of light tulle with small patterned beadings and cut fabrics draped on the inside. These less precious (yet still luxurious) looks will likely woo millennial customers.

Not very often is an apparel collection from one of the world's largest luxury brands viewed as having street cred, but this spring, Louis Vuitton upped the ante and provided the requisite dose of avant-garde sensibility that's often lacking from traditional houses.

Louis Vuitton Introduces New Packaging

Louis Vuitton News

Since 2003, Louis Vuitton has been known for its chocolate-brown packaging, but now the 162-year-old brand is taking on a brighter shade.

Officially called safran impérial (imperial saffron), the ochre hue will be featured on the brand's shopping bags and boxes for all purchases. Cobalt-blue ribbons and bag handles will complement the bright color.

The new packaging started arriving in stores over the weekend, along with a new rolling suitcase designed by Marc Newson. According to Michael Burke, the chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton, the packaging will eventually roll out to the brand's 450 stores worldwide.

"We don't want the packaging to be fashionable. It's supposed to have quite a long life cycle," Burke told WWD. "In most cases, brand colors play off of black and white. We wanted to be different."

The label has a close relationship with the color scheme. The yellow hue was featured on a vintage Vuitton trunk, the Citroën, which was commissioned by the French carmaker for an expedition in 1924. The color is also similar to the shade of the brand's handles, trim, and labels since 1860. Since Vuitton's inception in 1854, blue details have been used for personalization in the form of initials and ribbons.

Most recently, Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand's artistic director, featured the shade on many of its popular handbags, including the Petite Malle and the Twist MM. Saffron also showed up on the fall and spring 2016 catwalks at various labels, including Gucci, Prabal Gurung, and Prada.

The new packaging is made to last longer than the old packaging—it's thicker and more resilient—and is more collapsible than ever before.

The new packaging will hit LV stores this weekend so don’t be surprised when your purchases are given the saffron treatment. “We don’t want the packaging to be fashionable. It’s supposed to have quite a long life cycle,” Michael Burke, chairman and C.E.O. at LV told WWD. “In most cases, brand colors play off of black and white. We wanted to be different.”

The color, or variations of it, have been seen on LV products before, it’s also been used in their “Volez Voguez Voyagez” exhibition in Paris. Along with boasting a new color, the new packaging will also be more durable thanks to increased thickness and more resilience.
